Architectural Photography

Photographing architecture and interiors is all about studying light: I have the eye for design, attention to detail, patience, as well as specialised equipment it requires. Let me apply my experience gained working for international companies - such as Benoy, Hopkins Architects, Halcrow Yolles, Godwin Austin Johnson Architects, iGuzzini illumination, Hamilton International and HDR Architects - to your projects.

Exteriors

Dubai, dusty and hazy for much of the year, makes for a demanding shoot at the best of times. Much of my work is shot during the 'magic hour' after sunset and just before sunrise, when ambient light levels are balanced against the architectural lighting of the buildings themselves. This means that most buildings are best shot for an hour or two over several days, taking advantage of optimum light and weather conditions. I typically shoot with a mixture of prime lenses, and perspective-correcting 'tilt-shift' lenses, which enable me to minimise perspective and distortions.

Interior photography presents its own challenges, when light entering through windows can overpower delicate interior lighting designs. To combat this, I often use High Dynamic Range techniques, 'stacking' multiple exposures in post-production.

From the air

Have a large-scale project that needs to be shot from the air? You can rely on my experience to organise police permissions and charter a helicopter on your behalf with minimum hassle. Shooting on Canon professional bodies and lenses will ensure that you get the highest quality images for your project.
